Shinsyu-Ichi Misoya no Ippai (みそ汁食堂 味噌屋の一杯) Freeze-Dried Miso Soup — 10 servings — an assortment of five flavours, two servings of each: fried tofu (abura-age), fried eggplant, long green onion, tofu, and vegetable. Each serving is a freeze-dried block made with Shinsyu-Ichi's Miko-chan-brand miso, so it dissolves straight into hot water. The range was awarded the Grand Prix, the top prize, at the 61st Japan Food Selection. Manufactured in China for Shinsyu-Ichi Miso.
About Shinsyu-Ichi Miso
Shinsyu-Ichi Miso Co., Ltd. (神州一味噌株式会社) is a miso maker based in Suwa City, Nagano. Soy sauce and miso brewing began at its Marutaka factory in 1916; the company was established as Miyasaka Brewing Co., Ltd. in 1933, registered the 神州一 trademark in 1938, and took its present name in 2017.
What freeze-dried miso soup is
Freeze-drying removes the water from finished miso soup at low temperature, leaving a solid block that holds its ingredients' shape. Adding hot water rebuilds the soup, so the tofu, vegetables and seaweed return as pieces rather than as powder.
