About S&B Foods
S&B Foods (エスビー食品株式会社) was founded in Tokyo in 1923, when founder Minejiro Yamazaki achieved Japan's first successful domestic production of curry powder. Its instant curry-roux lines include Golden Curry (ゴールデンカレー, launched 1966) and Torokeru (とろけるカレー).
How Torokeru differs from Golden Curry
Golden Curry leads with S&B's spice-blend aroma and a roux-forward base. Torokeru sits on the creamier, more umami side of the family: heavier vegetable content (potato flake, Chinese cabbage and roasted cabbage powders, vegetable paste), a smoother melt, and a gentler spice profile.
