The Asakusa-style sauce
"Sauce" yakisoba is the most common Japanese style — a Worcestershire-based stir-fry sauce that's sweet, tangy, and savoury at once, distinct from salt (shio) or soy (shoyu) yakisoba variants. Sanyo's sauce blends Worcestershire sauce with vegetable oil, sugar, pork seasoning, yeast extract, and spices for a balanced umami-sweet profile. An aonori (sea lettuce flakes) sachet is included for garnish.
The noodles
Wavy fried noodles designed to coat sauce well — the crinkles hold the sauce, the lard adds richness, and the noodle width sits between thin and chunky for an even mouthfeel.
How to use
Pan-fry with vegetables (cabbage, bean sprouts, onion, carrot) and your choice of pork belly, chicken, or seafood. Toss with the sauce sachet at the end; finish with the aonori. Top with bonito flakes, beni-shōga, or Japanese mayonnaise for the full version.
