About S&B Foods
S&B Foods (エスビー食品株式会社) traces its history to 1923, when founder Minejiro Yamazaki achieved Japan's first successful domestic production of curry powder in Shichiken-cho, Asakusa, Tokyo. What's yuzu kosho
Yuzu kosho (柚子こしょう) is a Kyushu-region condiment paste of yuzu citrus peel, green (or red) chilli and salt — sharp, citrus-aromatic and chilli-warm. It is used sparingly as a finishing seasoning rather than as a sauce. The "kosho" in the name means chilli, not pepper: Kyushu has long used that word for chilli.
How to use & enjoy
Yuzu kosho is a classic condiment for Japanese hot pot (nabe), stirred into the broth or into a ponzu dipping sauce, and a well-attested partner for fish and seafood, served alongside sashimi. It is widely used with yakitori and grilled chicken or meat, stirred into noodle dishes such as udon and ramen for a spicy citrus kick, and added to miso soup for a citrus lift.
