About the blend
Based on the traditional "二辛五香" (nishin-goko) principle: two spices for heat (red chilli pepper, Japanese pepper) and five for fragrance (orange peel, black sesame, white sesame, ginger, seaweed). The aroma is what sets nanami / shichimi apart from a plain chilli powder — citrus from the orange peel, nuttiness from sesame, marine note from seaweed.
Note on the name: "Nanami Togarashi" is S&B's brand variant of shichimi togarashi (七味唐辛子, "seven-flavour chilli"). Same product, S&B's exclusive name.
