About S&B Foods
S&B Foods (エスビー食品株式会社) was founded 1923 by Minejiro Yamazaki in Asakusa, Tokyo. What is okazu rayu (taberu rayu)?
Okazu rayu (おかずラー油) — literally "side-dish chilli oil," also called taberu rayu ("chilli oil you can eat") — is a chunky chilli-oil condiment full of crunchy solid bits like fried garlic and onion, meant to be spooned onto food rather than drizzled. That crunch and savoury depth is what sets it apart from plain La-Yu, a smooth pourable chilli oil used to finish dishes.
