About Nissin Foods

Nissin Foods (日清食品) was founded 1948 by Momofuku Ando, who invented instant ramen with the launch of Chicken Ramen (チキンラーメン) in 1958 — the world's first instant noodle. In 1971 Nissin launched Cup Noodle (カップヌードル), the world's first cup-style instant noodle. The portfolio includes Cup Noodle, Donbei (どん兵衛) udon and soba, U.F.O. yakisoba, Raoh (ラ王) premium ramen, and Hiyashi Chuka summer ramen. What's aonori / aosa

Aonori (青のり) and aosa (青さ) are bright-green dried seaweed flakes — coarse-ground Ulva genus algae harvested from Japanese coastal waters. Sprinkled on okonomiyaki, takoyaki, yakisoba, and rice for a mild marine sweetness. Aosa is slightly thicker and more aromatic; aonori is finer and more vivid in colour.
