About Nissin Foods

Nissin Foods (日清食品) was founded 1948 by Momofuku Ando, who invented instant ramen with the launch of Chicken Ramen (チキンラーメン) in 1958 — the world's first instant noodle. In 1971 Nissin launched Cup Noodle (カップヌードル), the world's first cup-style instant noodle. The portfolio includes Cup Noodle, Donbei (どん兵衛) udon and soba, U.F.O. yakisoba, Raoh (ラ王) premium ramen, and Hiyashi Chuka summer ramen. Note that "Nissin" (日清食品, single-s) is a separate company from "Nisshin" (日清製粉, double-s).

The Assari Oishii range

Assari Oishii is Nissin's "easy to finish" sub-range with approximately 80% of the standard Cup Noodle noodle quantity (麺約8割). The broth profile is cleaner and lighter than standard Cup Noodle, designed for a "drinkable" finish (飲み口スッキリ).

The Seafood variant

Expected to use the Cup Noodle Seafood profile (kombu-dashi base with shellfish and seafood umami, pork and chicken extracts) in the Assari Oishii lighter format. Distinct from the existing Spicy Seafood (旨辛シーフード) 58g variant in the same range.
