Nisshin Seifun Welna (日清製粉ウェルナ) is the consumer-foods company of Japan's Nisshin Seifun Group — founded in 1962 as Nisshin Foods and renamed in 2022 — and it holds the No. 1 share of Japan's home-use wheat flour at 65.8% (Intage SRI+, April 2021–March 2024). What is hakurikiko (soft flour)
Hakurikiko (薄力粉) is the Japanese term for soft, low-protein wheat flour — the counterpart to strong flour (強力粉 / kyorikiko), which is high in protein and used for bread. Japanese kitchens keep the two as separate staples rather than using a single all-purpose flour, and Violet is a premium grade of the soft one.
