Kyokuyo Sanma Ajitsuke 145g is Pacific saury simmered in soy sauce and sugar, then sealed in a round easy-open can. Kyokuyo cuts the fish into bite-size pieces before canning — their own note is that it is cut into one-bite pieces so it is easy to eat — so it comes out of the can ready to serve without any portioning. The can holds 145 g, of which 100 g is fish once the liquid is drained. The saury is sourced from Japan and Taiwan, with final processing in Iwate Prefecture, Japan, and the lid carries Kyokuyo's 国内詰 mark for domestic canning.

What does "ajitsuke" mean?
Ajitsuke (味付) simply means "seasoned". On a Japanese can it is the standard way of saying the contents have been simmered in a soy-and-sugar seasoning, as distinct from fish packed plainly in brine, water or oil. Sanma (さんま) is Pacific saury, a slender, oil-rich blue-backed fish.
