About Kanpy
Kanpy (カンピー) is the own-brand range of Kato Sangyo Co., Ltd., a food wholesaler founded in Nishinomiya, Hyogo in 1945 and incorporated in 1947. The company describes its business as general food wholesaling and as the seller of Kanpy products; the Kanpy-brand canned line launched in September 1958.
What is yude azuki
Yude azuki (ゆであずき) means "boiled adzuki" — adzuki beans cooked in sugar syrup so the beans stay whole rather than being mashed into a smooth paste. It is the chunky, spoonable member of the anko (sweet bean) family, and in Japan it is a pantry staple rather than a specialty item.
How to use & enjoy
Sweetened azuki is a classic topping for kakigori, Japan's shaved-ice dessert, and for ice cream. It is also the base of oshiruko, a warm, sweet red-bean soup. And it appears as the sweet-bean component of anmitsu, a wagashi served with kanten jelly and fruit.
Ingredients
Sugar, prepared azuki bean, starch (corn), salt.
