Kameda Teshioya Dashi Salt Rice Crackers are thick, hard-baked Japanese senbei finished with a savoury dashi salt — a seasoning built on katsuobushi (dried bonito) from Makurazaki in Kagoshima, together with kombu kelp dashi, dusted over the cracker after baking. The result is saltiness with depth behind it rather than plain salt: toasty rice, a smoky-savoury edge from the bonito, and a little garlic and pepper in the background. The pack holds eight crackers, each individually wrapped, so they stay crisp once the bag is opened.
About Kameda Seika
Kameda Seika Co., Ltd. (亀田製菓株式会社) is Japan's largest rice-cracker maker, founded in 1946 and based in Niigata — the heart of Japan's rice country. It holds roughly a third of the Japanese snack market and describes itself as a "Rice Innovation Company"; several of its brands, including Kaki no Tane and Happy Turn, have been on shelves for more than fifty years.
What is senbei — and what does "Teshioya" mean?
Senbei are Japanese rice crackers made from non-glutinous rice, pressed and baked (or fried) into crisp discs and then seasoned — distinct from the small, bite-sized arare. The name Teshioya (手塩屋) plays on the Japanese expression teshio ni kakete, "to raise or tend something with your own hands", while literally reading as "hand-salt shop" — a nod to careful salting as the point of the product.

Non-glutinous rice (grown in the USA and Japan), vegetable oil, salt, seafood extract seasoning, bonito flake powder, spices, garlic oil / seasoning (amino acids etc.), vegetable lecithin, colour (turmeric).
