About Kameda Seika
Kameda Seika (亀田製菓株式会社) is a Niigata rice-cracker maker founded in 1946 and incorporated in 1957, holding roughly a third of Japan's rice-snack market. It is best known internationally for Kaki no Tane (亀田の柿の種) and Happy Turn (ハッピーターン).
What "Age Ichiban" means
"Age Ichiban" (揚一番) means "the best fried". Age-senbei are rice crackers finished in oil rather than baked, which gives them a heartier, crunchier bite than the baked senbei style.
