House Fruiche Melon (フルーチェ <メロン>) — 200 g — Japan's classic make-at-home fruit dessert. Stir one pouch into cold milk and in moments it sets into a soft, jiggly melon dessert with melon fruit flesh, a fragrant melon aroma and a gentle sweetness. No cooking, no heating; one 200 g pouch makes 4 servings.
About House Foods & Fruiche
House Foods (ハウス食品) is one of Japan's largest food manufacturers, best known for its curry roux (Vermont Curry, Java Curry) and retort meals. Fruiche (フルーチェ) is its long-running "a little bit homemade" dessert brand — a fruit base you simply mix with cold milk to set into a soft dessert at home.
How Fruiche works
Put one pouch in a bowl (keep the pouch at room temperature — don't chill it), add cold milk all at once, and mix in big strokes for about 20 seconds until it sets to a jiggly texture (chill for 30 minutes if it's still loose). It sets because the pectin in Fruiche reacts with the calcium in cold cow's milk — so use cow's milk or component-adjusted milk; it will not set with soy milk, milk drinks or processed milk.
Ingredients
Melon (China), sugar, high-fructose corn syrup, fructose / gelling agent (pectin), pH adjuster, flavouring, paprika colour. (Contains apple.)
Allergens
Contains apple. This dessert is prepared by mixing in cow's milk (which you add), so the prepared dessert contains milk.
