About King Foods
King Foods Co., Ltd. (キングフーズ株式会社), maker of the King-jirushi brand, began in 1948 as a flour mill in Himeji, Hyogo, and traded as Hinomoto King from 2006 to 2017. From Takasago, Hyogo, it makes kinako, grain flours, starches and beans.
How to use & enjoy
Kinako is sprinkled over mochi and other wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets), and for wagashi it is often mixed with sugar. Examples include dango, warabi mochi and ohagi.
