What's aonori / aosa
Aonori (青のり) and aosa (青さ) are bright-green dried seaweed flakes — coarse-ground Ulva genus algae harvested from Japanese coastal waters. Sprinkled on okonomiyaki, takoyaki, yakisoba, and rice for a mild marine sweetness. Aosa is slightly thicker and more aromatic; aonori is finer and more vivid in colour.
What aosa is
Aosa (アオサ) — also called green laver or sea lettuce — is a different seaweed from nori. Fujisawa Shoji dries and powders it into a fine sprinkle.
