About S&B Foods
S&B Foods (エスビー食品株式会社) traces its history to 1923, when founder Minejiro Yamazaki achieved Japan's first successful domestic production of curry powder in Shichiken-cho, Asakusa, Tokyo. Hidori Brand Curry Powder — Japan's first commercial curry powder for household use — followed in 1930, the "S&B" mark (S for sun, B for bird) was registered as a trademark in 1931, and the company's landmark ranges include the Akakan "Red Can" curry powder of 1950 and Golden Curry, launched in 1966.
How Torokeru differs from Golden Curry
Golden Curry leads with S&B's spice-blend aroma and a roux-forward base. Torokeru sits on the creamier, more umami side of the family: a heavier vegetable paste, a smoother melt and a gentler spice profile.
