About S&B Foods
S&B Foods (エスビー食品株式会社) was founded in 1923 by Minejiro Yamazaki in Asakusa, Tokyo, and produced Japan's first commercial domestic curry powder; the "S&B" mark — combining "Sun" and "Bird" — was added to the trademark in 1931. Wafu pasta (和風パスタ) is Japanese-style pasta — Italian noodles dressed with Japanese ingredients such as cod roe, soy sauce, seaweed, shiso or mushrooms. Tarako spaghetti is one of its best-known forms, and it is a Japanese dish in its own right rather than an Italian recipe adapted. Tarako (たらこ) is the salted roe itself, used as a seasoning as much as an ingredient.
