Kanpy Aji Nori (国産 卓上味のり) is a tabletop jar of seasoned Japanese nori — 80 bite-size ten-cut pieces, the equivalent of eight full sheets. Kato Sangyo uses flavourful domestic (kokusan) seaweed and seasons it with a sauce built on bonito dashi. The jar sits on the table with a screw lid and a desiccant inside, so the pieces stay crisp between meals; pull one straight out to top a hot bowl of rice or wrap around a mouthful.
About Kanpy
Kanpy (カンピー) is the consumer food brand of Kato Sangyo Co., Ltd. (加藤産業), a Nishinomiya-based general food wholesaler founded in 1947. The Kanpy range spans eighteen categories of everyday pantry goods, from jams, spreads and canned fruit to bean pastes, nori, dried goods, flours and noodles.
What's aji nori
Aji nori (味のり), or seasoned nori, is roasted seaweed brushed with a sweet-savoury soy-based sauce and cut into small bite-size pieces. The "tabletop" (卓上) jar format is the everyday Japanese way to keep it: a sealed container on the table rather than a packet, so it stays crisp and is always within reach at a meal.
