Ajinomoto Marudori Gara Soup (丸鶏がらスープ) 50g is a granulated Chinese-style chicken stock, made by slow-simmering whole chicken — the meat as well as the bones — for a deep, mellow richness. The granules are free-flowing and dissolve without stirring out lumps, so the stock goes in as a single step. Ajinomoto's own dosing guide puts it at about 4 level teaspoons per 600 ml for soup, about 6 teaspoons for a stir-fry, fried rice or hot pot, and about 3 teaspoons for rice porridge, with one level teaspoon weighing roughly 2.5 g. This is the 50 g pouch; the range also runs to a 55 g bottle and larger 110 g and 200 g pouches.

What gara soup is
Gara (がら) is the Japanese word for a chicken carcass, and gara soup (がらスープ) is the Chinese-style chicken stock simmered from it — the everyday savoury base behind fried rice, Chinese-style soups and stir-fried dishes. "Marudori" (丸鶏) means whole chicken, which is what distinguishes this one: the meat goes into the stock, not just the bones.
